I turned 50 today. How did you feel when you hit this number...

I'm getting in better shape, as well. Was around 230 at the beginning of the year. Around 210 now.

I'm also trying to learn to just go with it and not push too hard. I believe you will get there faster if you are patient and disciplined while still working hard. The balance is hard to find.

And thank you for sticking to the point of the thread, unlike some perverts.

Drop to 190. Then post a pic, I'll tell you how much farther to go.

Pray tell, how much more amplified the lack of sex in your relationship is going to get as you lose more weight, thereby increasing erectile power exponentially? See scientific evidence starting below, then follow up with articles from the Mayo clinic.

You asked for help, didn't you? You didn't specify no perverts allowed! :);)

Erectile dysfunction? Try losing weight

Age isn't a number to me. It's a state of mind. I've met people in their mid 30's that act like they are senior citizens and I've been close to several people in their 80's who think, talk, and act like they are the sharpest they've ever been.

So becoming old is a choice you make. And the fastest way to transition from young to old is to believe that you've learned about as much as you're going to learn. When you stop trying to learn new things, you halt brain development and you revert to talking about the only thing left, which is the past, or in other words, "the good 'ol days".

i'm 51 now and turning 50 was the first time i worried about my mortality.

anyway, this is better than the alternative. def agree u have to continue learning new things. my wife is 4 yrs younger and always planning adventures trying to keep it "real"..so i do think having a younger mate has its advantages.

i will admit to as i get older i appreciate life more each day and and try to manage what i do with more thoughtfulness.

I feel amazingly fortunate. Turn 60 in a few months, have a beautiful young wife, 2 gorgeous toddlers ( I mean we get stopped for people to take photos of them).
Still compete at a reasonably high level in sports.
Top of my game in my profession.

How it worked for me:
Religion - it gives the big picture
Slim and noticeably fit- I got slightly fat as an experiment in my late 40s. Women stopped looking at me, men had no respect. Never again.
No alcohol , drugs or tobacco for over 30 years.
Spend good money on clothes.
Patience .
Sleep is a priority.
Also pay for maids: they do the neccessary stuff everyday, having a sparkling home space is worth every dollar.

young wife? Is that in accordance with Baron's definition (example : a woman 90 yrs old is still young if she feels 30 for example) or as per our usual absolute definition? :)

That was a special year for me. It was the year I retired from my job and moved to another country. I now lead a life where I can do the things that I am interested in myself, instead of having to do things which a boss/company thinks are beneficial.
