I took the Series 56 today

Quote from Angrycat:

So what? We all use every advantage we have to compete. Big deal.

Well.....if someone is going to chose a firm to trade with based on the fact they can help them pass a test then so be it. That should be way down on the end of one's list. Just my humble opinion.

Why wouldn't I? If the other firms in this field can't/won't help their traders pass, and word gets out that we have the material that will get them to pass, then my firm gets stronger.

Prop trading has been commodotized. The way to differentiate yourself as a serious firm that isn't in it just to make money and run is to a) pay traders what they're owed when they're owed it and b) offer services not available at competition.

Making a study guide that helps traders stay employed falls under "b."

Enjoy the study material WTS gives you, EPrado. Hopefully they don't mark the price of the test up over the $195 cost on you.

Not with WTS. Nice try.

It's kind of sad seeing you on here shilling your firm based on ability to help guys pass a test. That should be way down on the list of things people look at when going to a firm. Good luck though.

Then what is he selling? Is my point. I did not read anything.

If someone has something to sell that will help pass this test.

I think their will be many traders willing to buy good info?

We are all ears to anyone that can help. but your not helping anyone are you?

Dude,

You are running around this website like a crazy chicken that got it's head cut off. Try and relax.

This person will not sell you anything. He will try and recruit you to his firm. If you feel that is something you want in a firm then great, go sign up with them. I just think there are for more important things to look at when going to a firm.

I hope things become more clear on this whole situation.

If I was selling my firm I'd mention it here or in PMs, but I haven't done that yet and won't until I think I have something of value.

Even then, all I'd say is "if you want to pass the 56, I've helped X amount of traders pass at Firm Y."

PM me from one of your other accounts and see if I reply.

I don't see why you wouldn't use this as a selling tool.

BTW, thanks for posting your experience and for coming back to update everyone here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates it.

Have one account amigo. If I have anything to ask or say it will be from here. Trust me.

It just amazes me what firms these days will do to attract new traders.

I just find it odd that you bothered to spend 195 bucks to take some test and not even attempt to get a waiver, given all of your experience.

Your game plan was to be the first one to pass the test. Then quickly come on a website trying to recruit guys to your firm by saying you are the only guy to pass/everyone else has failed.

Let's be real here. You are not going to share a thing with anybody. You are going to try and draw guys from other CBSX firms to yours based on the fact you are the only living person on the planet to pass this test.

I am sure that there will be study material made available very soon by both the education companies (STC) and individual firms. So I do see your end to rush this and try and get guys to jump ship ASAP.

Not selling your firm at all:

"Why wouldn't I? If the other firms in this field can't/won't help their traders pass, and word gets out that we have the material that will get them to pass, then my firm gets stronger."

"Wish I could be more helpful, but I view this test as a potential boom/bust for our niche, and since I'm the only known person to pass it, it could be a good recruiting tool for my firm if I can get our guys to pass and other firms can't. If that's the case, I'll let you all know where I am and once we associate you, you'll have access to the guide I'm working on frantically. "

Until I expose my firm, I haven't sold a thing.

Also, call the CBSX and ask them if they have any information on how many people have passed this test. The way I found out that I'm "the only known person to pass this test" is because someone did that today and was told that one person so far has passed this test, and I passed it on Tuesday, so unless their information is flowing in slowly, it's me.

Why not just take the series 7? There is plenty of study materials for that and the 7 has far more value if you blow out your account and want to go into the sales side of the business. Forget the 56 and take the 7. Problem solved.

No, it isn't. The CBOE has not yet decided if it will waive for the 7 (although, they are considering it).
