I have heard of him only. I'll assume he is funny. But you have to consider context. In a comedy routine the audience is expected to suspend judgement, and generally the tone of delivery is such that one doesn't begin to believe that the comedian actually hates his subjects. Even so there is only so much one can take of this style of humor. There are funny performers out there who never resort to this style.
