If GME was trading at $4 because supposedly nobody wanted to go to their stores, how can a company that everybody hates can fetch a stock price of $60.XX??!!
Amen!! I've tried Etrade, Ameritrade, ScottTrade, TradeKing, and a few others... they all suck compared to IB.Isn't IB #1 in funds in accounts compared with all other retail brokers? You think it sucks that bad, try etrade platform, or others and see what you like.
Do you work for IB? Are you an IB shareholder? If yes, what are *you* doing here?
It bothers me because there are bubbles. We need to burst bubbles. IB is the biggest bubble that need to burst.
Preach it! IB was instrumental in me getting my first big programming jobs in finance, because I could get my feet wet writing algos using the IB api. I could then talk intelligently about them in interviews.I don't understand why people complain about IB all the time in this forum, so which broker is the best ? IB offers me great margin rate, happy with their commisions not just in the US but worldwide. I can enter Hong Kong, Japan,Australia in the morning, UK,Euronext,Italy,Sweden in the afternoon and USA in the evening. TWS platform is bad this and that confusing etc.. whats confusing about it ? There is a watchlist window, you type in the symbol you want and press enter. You bring up the chart, bring market data window, order entry, news window if you want and finish. Its all on the upper left corner. If my friend acted like a douche and change the platform language into Chinese or Arabic I can still utilize it, its that easy. They got issues with replies to tickets but overall I managed to solve my issues via chat,&phone call.

Unless you want to pay big bucks for a BB terminal, Eikon, or the like... IB is a blessing!
I am neither an employee nor shareholder of IB, but I do have an IB account.
Not sure what your definition of a bubble is, but in all of these angry posts you haven't explained anything related to any kind of "bubble" with regards to IB. You seem like you are just torturing yourself by being with IB and not really benefiting from all this volatility of late. I hope you figure this out and find some happiness somewhere...somehow.

For years, they have been allowed to exist with non-existent customer service, slow, error-prone, bug-ridden software, unscrupulous execution policy, unfair margin policies. Their google review score is 1.7/5.
speak for yourself but I do value IB - have been a long term customer. Their margin policy (and forced liquidations) ensure that a bunch of idiots don't bring down my account with their trading (remember mfglobal) - i love their API access and I have 4 other brokerage accounts that in combo don't even come close with the securities I can short at IB. I even take their subpar customer service considering all the other benefits they provide. I shopped around quite a bit and what you get (e.g. futures spread margin if you pairs trade, portfolio margin with just 100k, the largest selection of short stocks, the best execution across all my brokerage platforms, java/linux api access) is hard to match with other brokerages. For years, they have been allowed to exist with non-existent customer service, slow, error-prone, bug-ridden software, unscrupulous execution policy, unfair margin policies. Their google review score is 1.7/5. Everybody who's ever used their service had nothing positive to say and yet their shares are trading at $60.XX??!! If you want to short a stock, short IB! It's time IB gets brought down to the value that it deserves if you want to talk about bursting bubbles.
