ER2 and YM.....I had one loser ES trade set of scalps....UGH.
I work with a little size, so I tend to take less trades with better risk to reward for short portions of their run. This week I left a lot of money on the table. 4 points X 5 days = 20 points X 10 contracts =200 X $50 = $10,000 minus the commissions of the trades. :D

bobcathy,

Tell me about what it's like to trade RUSSELL 2000. Do you find it easier to trade?

No, ER2 is not easier to trade randy....it is quite a bit more difficult because the swings can be quite huge within minutes. Up and down several hundred bucks can be scary for a novice.

That said, it does trend a lot better than ES. It is a nice vehicle on a swing trade type of time frame. I like 185 tick, because ticks smooth out the wild movements. 15 minute works quite nicely too for those who do not have tick charts.

I do not do any scalping with ER2. You would get clobbered.

I do scalp YM quite vigorously. I also use tick charts on that because of the lower volume. Though scalping larger amounts on this would not be easy because of the low volume. It also lends itself to gap closing type of trades which is a nice way to pick up money. Though some gap closings can take all day.

Both of these are for people who like slower eminis.

That sure sounds like leaving a lot on the table alright. $10,000? :p

Who uses NEXTREND? What is symbol for e-mini russell 2000?

TIA.

03.....my bad:(

My bad also. The reason I know this is because like usual I was
trading 03 when everyone else was trading 04. I couldn't figure
out why the volume was so light that day. I do this a lot. I think
I need a brain transplant... :D

Today I had the worst day I have had in years. The chop in the morning kept taking out my stops! Down 6 ER2 points is not a pretty picture. 8 trades......I need a big fat drink with a paper umbrella.........
