I paid for 'the Secret'

Quote from IanMacQuaide:

Conversely, imagine living with a total lack of fear, and in total joy in the immediate now.
That presents a problem since you are setting a goal... to live "lack of fear and in total joy."

I recently bought the Secret DVD and I kind of like it. It's stating the same things that other self help authors have said, but in a different way.

It's valuable to people like me who are pulling themselves up out of the hellhole of poverty and misery. For you guys who have always been squared away and have always had yourselve's together, I can see how you would ridicule it. But for people like me who were raised in a culture of gettng home from work as fast as you can to watch TV, it's like the parent you never had.

This is Buddha concept. To view thing from the white angle instead of from black angle. There is infinite positive stuffs as well as infinite negative stuffs in the Universe, then is one used to think negatively one will live in the negative forever since the loop of the negative never end. The same way for the positive side.

Quote from Rearden Metal:

I bought it too, but turned it off as soon as they revealed that this great 'secret' of theirs is nothing but 'the power of positive thinking' re-packaged.

You have a point. Anything that would put it out in the future would defeat it. It's like theading a needle. It only takes a moment, a single instant, to bring eternity to your awareness. But some take a lifetime preparing for that moment. The dirty little secret about "The Secret" is that it overlooks the moment where joy is found with a time-forward looking paradigm.

The secret really works. The other day I was walking and I said... you know it has been quite a while that I have not found some $$$ on the floor. Suddenly...tada! I found a $5.00 bill (not even 5 minutes after I had the thought). Scary...:D
