I need some good material

Quote from Tuneman:

I went to the library looking for some good books to read before I really start my professional career in trading, and all they had was "how to make money in the stock market" crap.

What are some good books, or online resources, that will give me some useful info, so I dont seem like a complete noob when I am getting trained.

First of all, How To Make Money in Stocks by William O'Neil is not crap in my opinion. But I do not think it is a good beginner's book. It's a must read if you want to understand the contents of Investors Business Daily. But that will come later.

If you wan't to get a good start from reading books try
High Probability Trading by Link and
Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by Murphy.

After reading about 50 or so books trying to learn I wish that I would have started with those two.

However, books alone are no substitute for actual trading experience. Just like a Police Academy student isn't a good cop when he graduates the Academy. It takes experience on the streets to develop skills.

That's some of the best advice you'll ever get! That should be mandatory advice for anyone new to the markets!
