I'll sell you my Penn State Chem E degree![]()
... fortunately I never toiled even one day as an "official" chemical engineer (although I was a Sales Engineer for many years).
An engineering degree is always an asset -- there are many directions one can take. Several of my friends went on to become patent attorneys (excruciatingly boring IMO, but great $$).
Good Luck.

Quote from LouieR:
I entered the IT industry in 1986 and have found myself without work for the last 2 years. As a result I have gotten much more interesting in trading. However, if I were to get back into the swing of things, I would definitely look into the security aspect of IT. I think that security will be the next area of mega-opportunity, particularly for IT. Best of luck with your search![]()

In addition to being good at IT, I was also a good businessman, and made no apology for it. If I were to work an additional 20-30 hours a week to get a project done for an unreasonable deadline, I was paid by the hour. "Throwing a pizza over the wall at 8:00pm" was NOT compensation "because I just love to code"
