I need a multi-function laser printer

I need a multi-function laser printer that can also fax (copy and scan would be nice, but not strictly necessary.)

Anyone have one that they have really pounced on that they like?

I am looking at this one, but it does not fax :(

This one is possibility:

or my favorite (it supports Postscript,) but a little outside of my price range:

Any suggestions?

Nitro,

Note that the 2nd link you gave (for Officejet 7130) is not a laser printer either. Its "Laser Quality" :), but its an InkJet printer. It is nice though. I have an older model - d135.

How about the new devices from Brother?

With Duplex:

Now thats my new favorite with Duplex and Ethernet:

Wow, thx.

the D is $607 at ecost

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=173014

and $520 for the "plain" one that is just as good for my purposes:

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/search/search.asp?Search=mfc8420&CurDSN=simple&calledfrom=1&incimage=on

and this printer can duplex print!

No postcript, but I think for practical purposes (and to save trees) I would rather have duplex.

This printer is definitely a possibility. The only thing that worries me is that Brother isn't necessarily known to be a work horse (AFAIK.) I'd hate to spend $600 and have it blow out on me two years later.

Thanks for the suggestion. Right now, at this price point, it is between this one and the HP for another $100.

I think the 8420 doesn't print duplex. However all of the three have something they call BR-Script 3 (PostScript®3 Language Emulation).

Regarding the work horse... It probably depends on your usage. I am seriously considering the 8820DN for my home-office. I don't know any other multifunction printer with duplex, built-in network and this low price. In addition it comes with a three year warranty here in Europe. :)

Ah,

Got it....I will have to see what the warrantee is here...

You are right, no duplex on the 8420. Postscript emulation is fine!!!
