I'm heading to FL for a few days in Feb. - I'm flying and my parents are driving, but if they had a larger vehicle, I'd box up a spare desktop computer and ship it with them. I may never need a laptop in the next few yrs. (except for this trip) because I'm usually flat when I travel, but this trip will be different.
I don't know anyone who's willing to loan me a laptop for a week, so it seems I must purchase one unless anyone here has a better idea. My requirements: must be able to run XP, a NON-glossy screen (WTF is that all about?), and I'd prefer 1440x900 screen resolution but that's more flexible. I don't need the latest and greatest, just the ability to run IB TWS and Ensign.
I've been to Toshiba and Dell's sites, but Toshiba has glossy screens and I think Dell's are too (at least the 1440x900 Latitudes). I don't mind buying used if the price is right, and have a spare copy of XP I can install, assuming the new or used laptop will accept it.
Is a Dell Latitude refurb the way to go? I'd appreciate any brand/model recos, new or used. Thanks.
