Def, Can I suggest that you do take this up with your ISP as it is something I have noticed frequently when monitoring the connection.
I am pleased that TWS is working well for you but the posts on this board suggest that this happy situation is not experienced by all your users. It seems that people who appreciate the overall IB product are growing weary of the reliability issues. If I am representative, we don't want to move we want you to address these issues so that we can stay and take advantage of a product offering that we otherwise think highly of.
I acknowledge that there is a tradeoff somewhere between order integrity and stability of connection and maybe no easy answer, but as noted elsewhere I get multiple disconnects but have had maybe one or two problems with orders in the whole time I have traded through you*. This is an acceptable error parameter. (Note when I talk of acceptable parameters I am NOT talking here about other problems with resting stops which are already on IB's server or the latency problems experienced with market orders which I do not experience with Marketable Limits or Marketable STOP MARKET).
Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think I will be looking at trading HSI with a browser based platform.
* Note if TWS has disconnected and is re loggin in that is a problem and has been very expensive on more than one occasion. What I am talking about is some order error when there was no actual disconnect and which I suspect was due to TWS error handling. Once again, this IS within aceptable parameters. Nothing works 100%, 100% of the time.
