I'm only doing 2 contracts right now.
I enter with limit orders and have had perfect fills so far. Except when price moves too fast for me to even hit the enter button.
Regarding playing with the trend, unfortunately, all I know is countertrend so that is what I have been doing.
And yes, if my stop is above/below the HOD/LOD and price breaks out, there can be some nasty slippage.
So far my worst slippage has been 12 points on one of the two contracts.
What I like though is that, for example in the trade that I listed above, my limit order to sell was sitting out there and the price on my chart was about 5 points away from my target and I was filled. The bid/ask fly all over the place !

im glad to see this thread is going again. tradersavy im very interested in your thoughts and experiences with this beast. ive got some intraday data back a couple of years and im starting to do some research and backtesting on it. TGM...sierra charts has been good for me as far as charts go. im not trading real time yet but you can get updates thru SC Magic. sierra and SC magic are both very reasonably priced. sierra will hook right up IB for real time quotes and charts. seems like its going to be a good setup for the price. i have always traded breakout type strategies so ive been running some of my old studies on the Hang Seng. this thing is just a different animal all together. (compared to s&p). i have been focusing on the first session only as the second is too late for me here in Chicago. looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts and experiences. i wont be trading it till feb sometime as im trying to finish my office but any if i see anything interesting i will gladly pass it on. happy holidays and good luck guys! jim

Where did you get your historical intraday data?
I have the same question. Cqg does not offer Hong Kong data! I can hook up this Quotetracker and pipe in data from IB for free. However, I do not have any history! I guess it will just have to build it??
FYI, anyone looking for a cheap front end that seems to work good with IB ---ZeroLine. 60 bucks a year!
U newbies do not know how well you have it with the internet! All kinds of goodies for cheap to free! When I started trading there was NO INTERNET! Everything was expensive!
