What do you mean when you said: âReal Estate is no longer cheap to attract foreign investmentâ?
A member of my family sold their ethanol refinery about 4 years ago and since then they have been investing instead in real estate development in Brazil.
Brazil has just started real estate development the kind where people can buy a house or apartment and pay it in 30 years.
If you took the time to read my 4-part article why China should invest $ 200 billion dollars in Brazil â and also my article why Brazil should adopt the new Asian currency â then you would understand the potential of the Brazilian economy in the coming years.
I ask you what have been the main engines of growth in the US economy in the last 7 years?
The Bush administration has pissed away during that period about $ 2 trillion US dollars in defense spending.
The other major source of economic growth is the warehousing millions of people in the prison system â basically incarcerating desperate and poor people to create new jobs in the prison system in communities around the country. At last count the United States had 2.3 million people in prison and another 5 million on probation.
The other major source of economic growth it has been building houses and condos by the millions all over the United States.
These 3 areas take care of a big chunk of economic activity in the US economy.
Whatâs so special about it?
The Bush administration in 8 years these clowns managed to double the cumulative outstanding debt of the US government from $ 5 trillion to $ 10 trillion US dollars.
If I had to choose 2 companies to symbolize the future of Brazil and the United States there are 2 companies that comes immediately to mind:
Brazil = Google
United States = Enron.

âBrazil launches Internet-based educational programs for public schoolsâ
People's Daily - China
April 09, 2008
The Brazilian government launched on Tuesday a nationwide Internet-based educational program, from which up to 37 million students and teachers would benefit.
The program, titled Broad Band in Schools, is designed to establish broadband Internet connections at 55,000 public schools, said Ronaldo Sardenberg, president of the National Telecommunications Agency.
Telephone operators have ensured that all the schools would have free access to Internet-based services, Sardenberg said. He added that the network transmission rate will be one megabit per second (Mbps) in the first phase of implementation, and two Mbps in January 2011.
The program, one of many initiatives of the National Program of Computing in Education, is considered one of the most important government projects by the government up to 2010.
