I just got a margin call from my broker, for the second time! I’m thinking now if it’s really that b

Absolutely, only a fool or someone with a whole lot of money rotting would start big.
Hahaha ya, and that’s not me. I have thankfully been able to see some better days because of the additional income that I’m making from trading. I wasn’t sure at first but now I can safely say that I took a good decision.

I have been there, being a new trader getting a call from etrade (my then trader) I got so pale that I stopped trading altogether. Fault was mine, I was just a noob trying to gamble my way through the markets. On restarting trading I was more serious, surely using leverage with fxview and tastyworks but nowhere close to getting a margin call, and won’t be in the future also.

We all have been there. If you are using margin, you must be ready to get a margin call. Being a trader for the last few years, I have accepted the fact and have become quite familiar with routine margin calls.

You said it yourself, they are needed for starting with. It is not that people might not have money to start trading, it is actually to do with the fact that testing is required to be able to know if one is even meant for this kind of thing.
Just because you have money doesn’t make you capable of trading. You must have the skills and risk appetite to be able to make profitable trading decisions.

Well, that is true. It’s obvious that you need money to trade forex or any other security you want to. But along with that, you must have a strong decision-making power that will make you survive in the market for long. As I use fxview and IG while trading, I try my best to make my strategies work. That’s why I also apply them on my demo trading account to get an idea of whether they work fine or not in the long run.

Indeed, in order to get profit and certain funds for investment, you need to have certain knowledge and practice.

I am overwhelmed with the response I have been getting. I am sure that all my doubts will get cleared in the particular thread only.

Yes, that’s true. Along with that, I would also like to mention that you must not follow what others are doing blindly. Your trading journey is different from others and so you must do your own planning.

Go with your thoughts 110%. In fact stop trading until you have revamped your risk management. You are an investor, not a trader if you receive margin calls.

%%
LOL, but make sure to label that 110% plus slippage from the get go\just a thought/LOL
And to be a wise investor or wise trader, use discretion. And when you see a real attractive chart or fund family like ARK, dont just jump in/LOL.
I waited until she took some ETFs profits off/tulips looks great, but that tulip chart was a real killer. I like wildflowers more\ i can get those @ market makers cost anytime i want to.........
Study charts more[,margin calls are wake up call]something is very wrong.
