Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but there's a rare window of opportunity open here that there is no doubt in mind, Putin and Xi see is wide open, and a prime (rare) opportunity to be exploited. Wars are won when the enemy collapse from within. Unfortunately, it wouldn't take much to get that ball rolling right now. Make no mistake, they are our enemies. Especially Russia. Or I should say Putin.

On the flip side, the best time a country unites as one...it's after the country has been attacked by another country.

Yep. But unfortunately, there's no uniting us right now... there'll only be nasty finger pointing and blame shifting, and that's exactly why i chose to use the word "rare". We are long past 9/11. And that unity was soon forgotten. And we are way, waaaay past Pearl Harbor. Plus... they won't be attacking the Homeland. Distant wars.

If another country dropped bombs on America...

The United States of America will unite, Congress will vote unanimously to fight back and most bullshit political rhetoric we had yesterday will be swept under the rug.

Yeah, a minority that are also citizens of that other country may denounce WAR but the majority of Americans will want to fight after seeing our country, state, or city bombed.

I have a biased opinion about the above but maybe it is because I'm ex-military and from 4th generation military in my heritage.

U.S military can defend itself from any attacks without waiting for a president to give an order...what are you saying... Russia is going to launch missles at the U.S. because Biden said he will not run? Joint Chief of Staff and the Pentagon can take on attackers immediately.

I didn't say anything about Russia launching missiles on us. Or anything else you wrote. I was talking about Russia making an all out assault on Ukraine, China going into Taiwan, and Israel being bombarded by Hamas/Hezbollah/ Hooties. All at once.

These people don't care about us... they care about their objectives. duh. They're not going to attack us. But we are committed to all three of those places, and what they DO care about is our ability to supply them. Not to mention, we would be involved in Taiwan. And perhaps even the Ukraine if Article 5 is evoked. So while they won't attack us, they sure as hell will exploit the opportunity to make a move when we are low as f on "ammo", which we are. And when I say ammo, I'm talking about high tech weapons.

If you don't think we'd be overwhelmed.... you're nuts. Our stock-piles of weapons is already low. Let alone the logistics required to bring a war effort to China's backyard. I even wrote a post about that logistic problem last week. And it wasn't me talking, it was the Commandant of the United States Marine Corp. A 4-star general.

We can't fight wars on two fronts and supply weapons to 3. This isn't 1941. These weapons take months to build.

No.

Putin already been making large scale assaults and bombings on Ukraine....I dont think Biden not running again really changes his behavior. Also China will never invade Taiwan, it is all political posturing. China been saber rattling since 1949. Also China has watched Russia get ostracized by the world and its economy suffer greatly. China is a closeted capitalist making billions a year as an exporter of manufactured goods and raw materials.

There is often a fear tactic of low munitions to increase defense spending because there are about 8-10 private corporations who lobby heavy for it because it makes them millions. I do not doubt that we are too low in weapons and manpower to fight a war on two fronts because it is not a reality to be that loaded with weapons and ships and such, we sell them to other countries now.

The one area where trump is landing well is the idea that other countries are getting rich off of our consumer economy and defense spending so they need to step up. Problem is nobody except maybe Russia makes weapons like we do. Catch 22.....

The current era is small regional conflicts rather than all out wars. It is too easy to bomb from offshore or drones that you dont need boots on the ground as much.

All of this, to me, is not predicated on who is president because Congress constantly approves defense spedning on aid to these countries no matter who is in the white house. Congress may play political games to get what they want and hold up aid. But billions always is created out of thin air for other countries yet we cant do shit in our own home.

There's no reason to take such a gamble with the election up in the air. If Kamala is elected, you can bet one or both will act. If Trump is, they'll negotiate.

No country will want to commit such resources before they know whether it would be a collosal mistake to do so.

Not to forget that we already have a major out-of-control invasion on our southern border.

And that will get massively worse in the next few months - as if the total disaster we have going already is not enough.

There is no reason why a migrant would not come now- except for the extreme heat of summer. But they know the Biden administration/Kamala have welcome mat down. So that is one reason. And the other reason is that they know that Trump could get elected and the welcome mat removed.

It is not just the migrants. The cartels are continuing to invade the country and set up shop and this is a GREAT time for them.

The Biden administration has imported an endless supply of terrorists through the southern border and all of those cockroaches will blossom and do their thing over time and give us some more 9/11 memories on some scale.

We can bloviate about any situation around the world but the bottom line is that anything that looks like Biden or Kamala smells like weakness and bad actors thrive on it. As we have seen.
