I have never seen a better trader than

Inspired yet again by $$MrMarket$$, I am working on a Manliness Index. In these times where most activity has been relentlessly feminized, extremely manly men like $$MrMarket$$ and yours truly are often frustrated by the need to demonstrate one's superior manliness in socially tolerated ways. I think we can all agree that we desperately need an objective measure of true manliness. This could have important implications for everyday activity, for example online dating. By screening potential dates by MI, women would be able to avoid the frustration of going out with Alan Alda wimp types. I can envision a time when companies will routinely expect to see an applicant's MI on his resume. Obviously, there are important apllications in politics as well. As a nation we could avoid the humiliation of having any more Jimmy Carter/Bill Clinton girlie men presidents.

Of course, as in many activities the devil is in the details. Some traditional measures of manliness are just too subjective. For example making a babe squeal like a pig is definitely an important manly trait, but how can we ever expect to measure the intensity of the squealing? It would also be necessary to adjust for the propensity of some women to squeal with less provocation than others, not that AAA has ever had any trouble getting them to annoy the neighbors. So, regretfully, that is out.

Luckily, we do have objective measures of most of the most important manly traits. I think we can all agree that such things as strength, athletic ability, what we drive and earning ability are manly, and anyone deficient in these areas might consider getting a testosterone patch from their physician.

Thus, the official MI will be derived by the following calculation: (Max bench press/body weight)*100 + (max golf drive-10*handicap) + (total number of cylinders in vehicles owned)*(10*sum of vehicles that are motorcycles, trucks, stickshift sports cars, airplanes or boats) + max annual earnings/1000.

Are you manly? Rate yourself by the following handy scale.

MI value Rating

>1000 MrMarket territory, you rule dude

750-1000 Men respect you, women crave you

500-750 You have female friends and kids like you

250-500 You defer to women in most matters

<250 Your dog is embarrassed by you

the last 30 min tells the story.

the stock is very thin on volume and has a big spread.

It wouldn't pass a quality test either

All afternoon long someone has given support at 51.50 , so I think the MM or whatever equivelant that that represents is a big caution.

I trade in multiples of 500's and 1000's so the thinness is a killer for me here. I also need to have the 65 day av volume be up there because I restrict myself to 10% of daily volume as a hold max or 100,000 shares whichever comes first.

Lets watch the day traders slip out during the last 30 min and see how ripe it is for the short leg coming up.

Nice call Jack....you still watching???? Your out 7 points...but im sure you will annalyse it in such a way so you can look right:D

C'mon Jack... it's pretty obvious by now that you know nothing about trading whereas Mr. Market is the king of the Market. All hail Mr. Market.

Then again... it's also pretty obvious that Mr. Market is hiding something here.... HIS SKIN!!!

The play as I see it is from 44 to 52 and reverse. I know many buy stocks at highs and hold as they make newer highs.
.

My approach is to be in stocks that are moving and to continually have a pile of potential stocks to play when my capital is freed when I exit a stock currently being held. I am not a part time person like MM who basically does fundamental analysis and "buy and hold" stuff.

=============================================

Cmon...im only messing with you BUT....Be a man like i was and apolgize to MM and say:

" Mr. Market, you were right and i was wrong and i know nothing about the stock market or trading in general"...

Say it !

SAY IT!!

This guy holds loosers just so he can build a string that gives him his kicks. There is no capital involved in these efforts that he makes to speak of.

It is a real commentary on his following rules as well.

The curent ROI he is running is a little over 8% a year if he follows rules.

Nobody here is really learning anything in this thread; it is just fluff and there isn't going to be any improvement in his efforts either. He is stuck where he is.

He has a job to hold down, three kids who will have to shoot for scholarships and a 10 year old car and two weeks vacation at the beach. If he were responsible he would get in a groove and start making some money for the time bomb he is living.

Thart no way he can make up all those lost opportunity costs now. But why does he keep incurring them?

Please show us how you came up with your 8% calculation. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to show us what a genius you really are.

You'll have to go step by step since I am obviously your intellectual inferior.

You make an excellent point...I've always believed that men who seek status by acquiring material items somehow try to make up for their insufficiencies in their physique.
Well you see, at least I can take the mickey out of myself since I don't take myself as serious as you do.

You see, I'm not insecure. But you are. Anybody in doubt please read the -name of this thread- again.

You're just here for entertainment, mrmonster. Or am I wrong? You are the clown of the ET boards. Nobody takes you serious.
I hope you're happy living like that.

I don't know of any physique-inefficiency, but if it exists, I'd prefer it to a keratene-abundance any day. :D

You are correct. Many of the people on this board amuse me, some not intentionally, but the net effect still prevails. Post on!

I am HUGE!

Don't waste your time on challenging the inferior, jack hershey. That's a fool's play.

If you're so good and wealthy why don't you even get together your own website? Yahoo boards... LOL.

This guy appears to suffer heavily from delusions of grandeur.
Maybe you should speak to a professional.

As you suggest:

I read it in a post in this thread as done by a person using a normal assessment method. I think at the time you missed it because of emotional stress and leaving the thread. I'll repost it if you can't find it. Mostly everyone in the thread agreed at the time of the post.

It was detailed out so as to show what is what vis a vis your rules. There were additonal comments about lost opportunity costs. I hope it give you a wake up call.

You are only a few steps away from shaping up to make money. It may piss you off a little when you catch on.

By seeing NFI didn't ake 4 to 6 weeks, you are getting a clue. I rolled out of HOV and into another stock. This week I am rolling out of KMX and SAPE on the same basis. Holding 6 days is enough for your target, I don't do targets though; I just take what's on the table.

I don't think we met when I was adj prof at Wharton (grad faculty) connected via UCSC. I am not the Jack Hershey there at Penn now.
