I have decided to get my series 65

Does anyone know how hard is that? What is the fee to register?
Someone I know in LA sponsored me for the series 6 and they said the firm would allow me to go for the Investment Advisor or whatever their series 65 is. Please explain this to me. Anyone here has or had the test (in the past)?
