My favorite Salon du Trading videos are the ones of the women traders...they're pretty. No link will be given to the ones I consider to be pretty.

What good does old trades do me? Isn't the idea of mentoring for someone to be sitting right beside you? Not that seeing someone post a live call as you watch it as well is mentoring of course, but its never the less interesting to see someone enter a trade, and be aware of it IN REAL TIME, and see if you can figure out what would make them enter the trade there.

This is exactly my point. You make a statement and someone gives you an answer. You then change your statement AFTER your original request. If you don't value ET's old information...you should have stated such in the first place instead of using it as an argument AFTER the fact.

Your original statement to me did not include any request about mentoring even though my original statement clearly stated forums are not suitable for mentoring nor have I ever seen any mentoring at this forum...just a bunch of folks sharing their trade methods...nothing more. In contrast, your original request was about profitable verified ET traders (nothing about mentoring and nothing about how long ago).

Honestly, if you keep calling me lazy, I have every right to call you less than useful. The only thing you ever provide is a general outline. Its a wonderful outline, but its still a general outline never the less. You even say those videos at Salon won't be helpful for education purposes, so why would I watch them?

Listen... if I saw you stumbling along the street late one night with a bleeding arm wound and in distress, I would help. I would ask if you know where the hospital is. If you replied you didn't, I would ask if you have a phone because the phone could tell you where the hospital was. If there wasn't time to find a hospital, I could suggest to you that you would look up info on how to stop the bleeding. Maybe if I was really nice, I might even call your wife for you to let her know you will be home late.

Here's my analogy of the above. If I saw you bleeding late at night...I will take you to a nearby hospital and then ask you if you can talk. If you say yes...I will notify the front desk that you're coherent and let you then do the talking to the nurse without my help because by that time...I'm gone and you then consider me one of those people that didn't point you in the right direction.

Simply, I'm not going to stay in the hospital with you and hold your hand unless a crime was involved and I was a witness to such.

A member on here suggested watching videos by a certain trader, FuturesTrader71, which I find incredibly useful, and also listening to another specific podcast about an interview with a guy who he thought was the real deal and tells it straight up like it is. Was that so hard?

You really don't know me and I know FuturesTrader71 very well from way back although I currently have no communication with him.

Further, he has nothing to do with any requests you have given me in the past...this is just another attempt by you to manipulate the truth although I prefer to call it lying. In contrast, if you change your requests like you enjoy doing consistently and then give a completely different request to someone else...I can fully understand why they would recommend FuturesTrader71 and you can then make a comparison I was not helpful.

Yet, lets pretend you asked me about a trader using a method like FuturesTrader71...I would have told you to check out the old Traders PnL threads (hint) here at ET and mentioned his name. I would not have given you a direct link to his ET profile, I would not have given you a direct link to every message post here at the forum...

Anyway, the only thing I wanted to reply to specifically was that I found the above quite funny. Besides trading, I'm passionate about anything to do with women, relationships, mating behavior, differences between the sexes, all that juicy stuff. At least given the above comment, I can surmise that you're not a robot even though you keep saying the same thing over and over again like me.

you want to get out because it reaches your goal already?

many trading educators would teach you that approach. and that is quite sound on one level,
because you already accomplish your trading goal, right? well and good.

but then, shouldn't you look at your own trading indicators of some kind which would tell
you, more or less, if or whether the price movement, up or down, has already run its course
to the ultimate?

this particular trade is not closed out yet, is because, the indicators have not yet change
color or direction, substantially as yet. see it on the attached chart?

i'll give up some ground and profit, of course, to wait for the color to change
to neutral (white color), then finally to red color.

and that is only one of the several warning lights to guide me thru a trade.

For the sake of completeness, I have never said that, or perhaps it wasn't my intention to conclude that, past posters and discussions are useless. Because the markets are essentially the same, what worked back then still works now. My only point was about the live trading/mentoring. If someone posted live calls and I looked up the thread from years ago, I probably cannot even get tick data anymore to be able to replay it and follow along in real time. That is what I am getting at.

I find the older stuff very useful, and I even went back and found many posts from bighog enlightening.

Now to make this even more useful, I 'd like to share a couple of things from a FT71 video that I found useful because it very much matches my framework.

On the question of setups, he said that he doesn't really have setups because he is evaluating demand and supply. The second point was that he was essentially always looking for reversals. This doesn't mean standing in front of a train, but it means that if you're wanting to go long because you see an up trend, you look for a reversal trade that would stop as a retracement is forming. In a very strong up trend, price never gets to even the previous retracement low on a 1 min chart, and often on 5 sec charts, you see double and triple bottoms that never break lower by more than a tick. Taking reversal trades there is what I look for, and what I think he means as well.

Coincidentally, fortydraws said this very same thing. After a BO, he would look for a reversal off a test back down to the level it broke out of. Sure you can call it a retracement entry, but its also a reversal off the immediate down trend in the direction of the bigger main trend.

I'm not really talking about live calls, I'm talking about the useful trading information they've posted all over ET that had nothing to do with a live call. The live call mentioned by me was as verification that they walked the talk and that ET does in fact currently and in the past have traders that profitably post trades.

Simply, if you see a ET member posting consistent profitable live calls...it only made sense to me to pay attention to any trading information they post elsewhere at ET even though they are not doing any mentoring.

Regardless, there are currently ET members posting live calls...some did such today. There's no excuse why you can't or not able to follow along with your live data. In fact, what's preventing you from talking to them about the specifics of their trade method considering I already see you talking to some of them and giving them likes ?

Maybe they're using a method your don't like but isn't the goal to be profitable/learn in comparison to reading something you like as if its a good mystery novel ?

Anyways, you keep mentioning the word mentoring here at the forum and a few times discussed in the past about those sharing their methods are not revealing additional information that's critical to the process of trading...I've never seen such (mentoring) here and I've seen a lot of threads here at ET by members sharing specific details about their trade method without any mentoring nor have I've seen any of ET's PA gurus use the word mentoring when they shared their method. ET or forums do not have a suitable format for mentoring.

Trading can not be taught. It's a self-taught process. You can learn someone's trade method but you still must teach yourself how to trade.

Maybe its because they too know the process of trading is self-taught even though they actually don't mention the self-taught phrase...something I mentioned I had a problem with in my message that you choose to reply to via saying I'm not helpful.

The only thing you'll find here is just anonymous members sharing their trade methods...nothing more. You can talk to ET sponsors about that...if there's going to be any mentoring here...Baron would only allow sponsors to do such and probably at a pretty penny.

P.S. I know for fact that FT has specific trade setups and I'm confident he won't share them with you. Nothing personal, he just doesn't know you. You need to dig deeper and find setups he talked about in the past now that you have his name and its not my responsibility to help you dig through your research...I'm just making sure there's no misunderstanding about my responsibilities to you (sarcasm).
