Dude, go to ThinkOrSwim and open up a margin account. They have a TON of tools for novice investors. I've been with them since April and have learned a lot plus seen some good gains.
 
I dont understand why you aren't think prop firm, if you have a method and it works for you AND you also don't have much capital, you'd be a fool not to leverage your money a bit and also allow yourself to trade more actively. It solves your issues, just need to do some DD to find the best fit for you.

I appreciate the prop firm idea, but I guess I haven't looked into them enough.

I'll take your word on it and see what the advantages are.

Overall there seem to be a lot of negatives that i've read but maybe biased.
