Man, I am angry right now! I really feel pissed off in a major way. Recently, I was driving and I noticed a police car behind me with the lights on, so i pulled over. Out of the car hobbled this guy that must have been 75 plus years old-- I thought that was really weird, but this is Florida. He was in a some kind of security guard uniform and advised me to be more careful making a right turn on red. As soon as I saw he wasn't a real cop, I said F$ck off, and quickly drove away. I later learned this was a "citizens patrol" in car with lights, painted to look like a police cruiser. This is just WRONG. How can it be legal for morons to play policeman?? Does anyone know if it legal or not? I plan on putting these jokers out of business quickly if legally possible. am i over reacting? any thoughts? Next thing one of these power freak ass clowns will try to rape someone or something under the guise of being a cop. I HATE ANY ABUSE OF POWER- particullarly when that power is FAKE------- and I am generally a very mellowed out person but this stuff just sets me off. surf

Seems like theres more and more of these jerkoffs out there these days, driving around in fake patrol cars with no real authority to do anything, every where you go some security guy, or campus security, etc.... have one of these cop cars, I dont understand how they have lights on their car when they really dont have any authority to do anything, and they always end up being the biggest douche bags of all.
TThey were the ones who were too stupid/mentally unbalanced too become real cops, so 99% of the time they end up being the most braindead, authoritarian jack asses you will ever see, and they really have no authority to do anything other than shine a flash light in your eyes.

Im happy to see im not alone--- my bet is that it is illegal to do this-- but can't seem to get a straight answer.
I have no idea what this is, but some departments do have civilian programs. I could see it as useful if for example, you had a breakdown and they could summon assistance. Pulling people over to lecture them about traffic rules is clearly a terrible idea though.
Its not just limited to America either, though i seem to see more of these jackasses donw here.
This summer when i went too northern canada fishing with my father, and we go way up north, so far that there is no one there, except for this beautiful resort, and the people staying at it.
We were in the middle of the lake during the day when some conservation officer pulled up to our boat and asked to see our fish so that he could make sure we werent over the limit, my dad reached for the fish bucket and this little pimply faced weasel who was probly 23-24 years old put his hand on his hip, and on his gun, but never drew it, as if to say "you pull anything and ill shoot you."
Here we are me my dad and stepmom, they are 75 and 65 years old, in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, in an aluminum fishing boat with a 25 horsepower engine, (in Canada where no one has a gun) and this jackass is reaching for his gun.
What did he think we were going to do? Steal a fish? Like i said these are the guys who are too mentally unstable to get through cop school, and for some reason all these various agencies are giving these guys a gun and a badge, and they see it as their duty to express their authority over people every chance they get even though they really have none whatsoever.
The way i see it this is only going to end badly, we are going to hear more and more stories of these lunatics shooting people for committing petty offenses, all because the only people they can find to do the job, seem to be psychos who just want to find themselves any position where they feel like they have some power.
