I feel like fundamental analysis is completely useless

This is why I think beating the index is a good measure of a traders success.

Of course, and the expression "beating the market" means just that: doing better than the index (historically the Dow Jones index, created 124 years ago).

So, is fundamental analysis totally useless? Should we just ignore it and move on?

I may contradict myself but it does have some predictive power...

I will explain later, enough trading talk for today. :D

See this is exactly what I'm talking about. Horrible bad attitude...

I think what Tradex is alluding to is you can have the most powerful positive attitude in the world. But that means absolute dick when your trade position goes against you and you have to take a loss. And you try again and you take a loss. And you try again and you take a loss. And you try again and take a loss.

The mental stamina required to know when to accept the loss and not be hung up about it is tremendous.

He was trying to tell me that he doesn't have the mental capacity to do fundamentals, when there are thousands of successful traders doing it. Don't tell me you can't do something, learn how to do it. To me this attitude of giving up is horrible, and I hate seeing anyone do it.

Your example sounds like someone who doesn't know when to quit. If you sell because you think the market is going bearish then sell and don't ever buy back in, even if it starts to go up again. Once you make a decision stick with it, and be at peace with your decision. You have to have some kind of certainty in an uncertain market. At least that's what I believe but then again WTFDIK?

How did you earn the respect of the Chef!? I'm interested....
Anyone who can make a living as a day trader has my respect.

You folks are different animals than us swingers, your techniques, mindsets, etc. I have much to learn.
