I dropped out of HS to be a better family man?

...Johnston dropped out of high school and took a job as an apprentice electrician on the North Slope oil fields,...[/B]

...and then he says "Hey, I can see the South Pole from here!"

I feel sorry for the guy who was waiting in line for that apprentice job and then got bumped by a high school dropout. All of those oil field jobs pay big bucks and there's no shortage of applicants for them.

Actually if your willing to bust your ass they are not all that hard to get, but most people don't last.

Not sure what you mean...Every sentence is positive and makes sense......What line do you disagree.

It's a positive for a kid to drop out of HS? That's whats going to make him a good family man? Give me a break.

If you have a wife and child to support getting a job helps....he can always take GED his he wishes.

Many high schools have work programs. Seniors work to earn credit.
If a student has no intention of going to college learning a vocation is proper.
If inner city schools put more vocational programs in place at least you would have dropouts with some skills, or many would stay in school
I would argue going to work on the North Slope is a fine education.

She's both loathed and FEARED for a reason.....

Loathsome she is, fearsome no. The jig is up on Palin. She'll be a mere footnote to history. She is NOT smart, she incredibly ambitious, an ambition which far outstrips her skills to navigate where she has found herself, an ambition which is untempered by ethics and essential morals.
