I don't miss office politics.

This job was once glamorous to myself, but now I wouldnt want to do it even if you payed me 10 times the salary of what they normally get.

It is my belief that no job will ever be perfect except for those rare select opportunities. I kind of like the idea of flipping houses in the real estate boom. If we can only turn back time...

Interestingly, I work in government now in a somewhat high profile state organization. I was wondering why I enjoyed it so much... answer: There's no politics (for real) and there's nobody trying to build a corporate culture. Everyone is there because they are qualified and there's none of that "Moving up the corporate ladder" motif.
 
Why do you think that Extroverted types like the Corporate culture? Never thought of it this way.

i think it is interesting that corporate america demands you accept the limitations of "team" in all aspects of work: in socializing, in responsibility, certainly in compensation ...
whereas non-prop trading is the ultimate act of mercenary capitalism: you get paid precisely what you are worth.

i miss being in an office with members of the opposite sex (females). my trading office is like 40 guys and 1 female (receptionist). unfortunately the bathrooms were not designed accordingly so there is always a big line to use the crappers in the morning.
