I did it!...I just configured and ordered a Athlon Dual Core from CyberPowerSystems

Question for anyone, please,

If you select 2nd video card on your order are you assured that the motherboard can accept 2 pcie cards and thus have a 4 monitor set-up?????

No Problemo....

PCIE mobos mostly have a x16, x4, & x1, PCIE slots + 2 or 3 PCI slots. Matrox makes a dualhead x1 card. Michael's sounds like it even has 2, x16 slots.

assuming that you are a discretionary trader..

you don't need such a fast computer if you are a discretionary trader. even if you scalp.

the fast comp is useless because the ping delay you experience with your isp prob will outweigh all the performance increases from the hardware

I trade on mutiple browsers and accounts...and I can see the difference between my three computers...

I am scalping, short term trading and carry's...It gets wild here sometimes...

shoot... its only $1,245.00 that I am spending...I have always agreed with what you are stating...and actually have been the advocate for not needing power for trading because of the bottlenecks...but there is some local improvements that I might realize.

I stepped up to the deluxe DSL speed and man, that was noticable...(I need a new box for the cable so I spent an extra four hundred bucks to test out my curiosity's..I will let you know)

I just am not a DELL man for now...

I did this...I amended my order to be 4200's...thanks!

That is an awesome price. Just one caveat - there is only a $50 difference between the x2 3800 and the x2 4200. It will give you a tad more compute power (just a tad), but might be worth the extra $50.

I left the SLI....I might run more than four monitors someday.

I just took a quick look. I built a rig with a Raptor 74GB drive recently, but I also have an external USB 2.0 200GB drive. Are you sure that all you want is that 36 GB drive? I know that wouldn't be enough storage for me. Maybe you're planning on using this as a dedicated trading computer. Even then, is that enough for you? You can get one of the new Raptor 150 GB drives, very nice, also 10K RPM.

Sorry if I missed another drive somewhere in your part sheet.

Also, that SLI board is the must have for gamers, but unless you are planning on running more than 4 monitors, you may be able to save a few bucks and get the non-SLI version (unless you are into gaming). Someone can correct me if there is some compelling reason to go SLI that I am not aware of. In my research, I determined that gaming-type graphics capabilities are generally not needed for or even utilizable by trading apps.
