Not a shortage. Many ET comments are oxymorons plus thanks is always in short supply.
Is that product part of the list of growing shortages in the US?
But it takes energy to get any lumber.

maybe only Honda has the machine but I doubt only Honda installs it. I bet there are Honda mechanics that know work arounds. My problem is bigger than getting an "OEM" part.
The machine needed to charge the AC on my 2017 Honda costs $25K.
It's called "1-2-3-4" refrigerant.
This is already way more than I want to know about this stuff.
But suffice it to say only Honda has the machine, and Honda only installs Honda parts.
'Nuff said.

China can export to whomever they want. It would not surprise me if Germany and rich Arab countries can obtain all the parts they want.
Nobody forces you to buy. Years ago when I was not familiar with marketing practices I bought a defective product made in China. I replaced it with the same product at 3X the price from Taiwan.e laugh and do nothing but flood your markets with our shit products"

R1234YF refrigerant is more expensive, but you don't need a $25K machine to use it. It looks like you can get a full recharge kit for $140.
Continuing here on Elite Car Repair, you can get an AC Pro AC refill kit for $40.00 at Autozone. It is a bottle of compressed refrigerant with a hose and adapter that just plugs into the car's AC system. Easy to use, and it works perfectly.
