MrN, We don't watch tv to get information. We watch it to study the art of propaganda. The idiotic exchange between the two talking heads in that video is exactly why I have not watched television news in over 7 years. With increasing access to primary sources, there is zero reason to pay attention to those nitwits.
I think Trump's end game is to get his faltering reality show renewed. (Where he can then continue to strut like a rooster, shit all over the place, and make arbitrary decisions with no basis in reality.) So he won't be spending quite as much as the other candidates, because it's a cost/benefit thing. But he's media gold, so his campaign will essentially be paid for by the media itself. Seriously, I'm waiting for the show to begin. And I hope he gets the Republican nod, as unlikely as it is. Because if that doesn't draw voters to the other end of the political spectrum, then nothing will. He's not unlike "market surfer", he does it for the attention, knowing full well that he doesn't stand a chance. Which is, of course, why nearly all those in the clown car do it: the money. Who cares about being elected? The book deals and speaking fees alone . . .
...and spun magic comes out.
I think we all have this dark secret desire that it must get much worse before it ever gets better.I think Trump's end game is to get his faltering reality show renewed. 2016 will just be a war of the media against the people, and it doesn't look good for the republicans. Fox will pull out all the stops for the republican. msnbc will attack the republican mercilessly. ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN will be 100% woman. What does it mean to have a woman as President? What will we call her husband? First Gentleman? And how is it different because Hillary already lived in the White House?Trump is a colorful. He'll have Romney's problems exponentially magnified. I've known people like Trump. They leave a trail of resentful former employees and business associates behind them. The disgruntled and trampled upon will give him rope with the intention of letting him hang himself. If he doesn't do himself in 'Romney style', his enemies will emerge from cracks everywhere and devour him, one small bite at a time, like an army of voracious cockroaches.
I've seen how Obama respects his wife and how he looks after his children. He may be a dumbass when it comes to the economy, but I have always and still do think he has America's interest at heart, and would never do anything to hurt us.Not much difference between most Ds and Rs these daze.
So, these debates usually go nowhere to change anyone's mind.
Take a walk thru any Walmart or mall in the (formerly) USA, then let me know if you really think there are enough sane people left in the country to put in a real conservative.
A much more fun debate would be about when the next revolution is going to occur.
Since, we know that the boomer generation is a bunch of sold out chickenshits, we know it's going to be a while longer.
However, if Hitlery gets in the Oval Office, I suspect that that would push it a bit closer.
And, too, if Obama intentionally causes or makes up some "disaster" or "imminent threat" to the USA, (and don't think he wouldn't) such that he declares martial law so that he can stay in office, then that could change the equation...maybe.
The future here is bleak.
Don't have children.
