..Start Prop and learn on someone elses dime if you can...also, don't worry about "3 year contracts"...when you are trading prop you are trading their cap....if you decide to trade your own money there is no law that says you can't...they may put it in a contract but it's unenforceable
Could this be made into a two part question?
The other part would be what can you do with 2000 bucks and brains and just do it evenings after market close. Skip the 30K trip.
I wasn't clear I meant do some analysis and then do investing during the day based upon the evening's work.
I did not mean to do any after market trading.
I am thinking along the lines of us here getting out our business calculators and plotting some income streams to find out how it might work out.
i haven't figured out what the 30,000 symbolizes and that kind of stuff.
When I got out of college I took 300 bucks and mailed it to a broker. Then I kicked in some left overs from my pay check.
since it was 1957, I had to do my charts in pencil on a graph I made and use data from the last page of the WSJ.
At work I called in an order once a day.
By 1960 when I bought my first mercedes sports car (109SL) in Kopenhagen on vacation, I was paying weekly commisions equal to my engineering salary.
What am I missing here??

Prop Firm seems like the best place to start.
Although for me, I could easily make $30,000/yr doing odd jobs after taxes and expenses if I move back home after college and get 2 jobs. Work at Wal-Mart Supercenter and at Best Buy and pull out ~80 hour work weeks.
I will be graduating with an Economics degree, but I am not sure if I should try to find me a job related to Econ, where they would expect a longer commitment.
I am actually thinking about pursuing a master's in Accounting or a Law degree, but I don't know if I have the enough commitment or determination right now to go with that and maybe one day realize that thats not what I wanted to do.
I am actually looking at different Prop. Firm websites, but they all look for a "track record", and I don't have one yet. I been watching the markets for a while now, but never pursued it further.
How do you think I could go about getting me a track record for a Firm to hire me.?
