I am proud of America

Quote from killthesunshine:

too bad his vote is unclssay.

he wins both ways.. he won't vote for obama but if he does real good by the US 'see i'm a 'back-handed' supporter..

"i'm proud to be ameerakin!"

BS

:D
True to your name, you really are killing the sunshine. I imagine that Obama would want everyone who didn't vote for him to share Brandon's sentiment. That's what brings a country together.

Quote from killthesunshine:

did you place Bush in office for last 8 yrs?

No, I did not vote for him in 2004.
Watch what happens kill, if a significant portion of the left continues to hold onto the bitterness and hate that you are showing Obama's Presidency will not live up to it's potential and will go down as just as much of a failure as Bush's will.

Just because I did not vote for Obama hardly means I voted for McCain. When the choice is really between the less of two bad things (and this was the first time I have ever thought the presidential election was) then I obstain in that vote. I voted for my congressional reps and for local positions, I left the presidential vote blank.

how is abstention helping the America that you love??

Quote from Brandonf:

I did not vote for Barak Obama, but I am proud of America right . This election went off exactly how it should have, where problems arose they got addressed, the candidate of the majority has won and he is going to go into office. We will not have to go through the pain of having the popular vote winner lose the electoral vote that we had in 2000 and that has continued to be a source of bitterness ever since. I hope that Obama is the greatest president we have ever had and that we can start to heal as a country, we need it.
I do hope that the Democrats will remember that about 45% of the country did not vote for them. I hope they can attempt to be civil in convincing those of us who did not to continue to support Obama. I don't think that many people would make a case that Bush was the "uniter" that he promised to be, but I hope that Democrats do not fall into the traps of power and figure that two wrongs will make a right. Bush will go down in history as a terrible president and leader, much of the cause of this is going to be his complete disregard of anyone on the other side, and I hope that President Obama does not repeat this mistake.

Hi Brandon....as most know, I avoid the politics threads for a couple of reasons...primarily because I feel that I'm a true centrist (Progressive Capitalist, LOL)...and don't like the nonsense from either side when it gets to mean name calling and finger pointing....but I have to dive in to say that I say "amen" to healing the Country...no dancing in the aisles by the Dems, no calling names from the Reps.... Come on guys, we're all in this together for another 4 years, let's work together.

FWIW,

Don

I think your doing a pretty good job of showing yourself to be the one that we need a break from.
