HYBRID, good news.

Hi Don, I know you are the best in the business, but can you please provide a link to show proof that ARCA is going to the 2/3 model on NYSE. (pending SEC approval) I could not find it anywhere on their website. If someone can provide me with a link it will be most helpfull.

Thanks

well, i thot your profits depended mainly from lockin' the mkt; i saw u postin' on a best trade of the day thread that u banked 4c on gm. u talk so much about arbin' the specialist that looked like it is all u do and it seems odd to me, to put all that risk capital at work for pennies, [shite can happen anytime innit] especially on days when u gotta the embarassement of the choice for full % gains. and i cant understand why u call it a gamble; all the yrs u been in the mkt u should get a feel for things that move, setups in the tape and charts are the same over and over and over..this is a skill not a gamble and can be taught imo. still, am glad to hear your guys also trade direction sometimes, if that's really the case.

My friend Mr. Bitstream...there is so much more to the various strategies that my (excellent) traders engage in than you seem to acknowledge. Our pairs people do make dollars, but do not like the idea of being part of the "gamble" of market direction. You say you did well with Ford, well we did well with GM...when everyone was hammering it around $20 or so, we loaded up when the conventional wisdom and street talk was about "bankruptcy". We have the capital to take risks like that, many of our traders may not (yet anyway, LOL)...so they prefer market neutral trading. They "may" use trade frequency to enhance their profits (check MSchey sometime), but a big chunk is made with those "dollar moves" you talk about.

I hope that our traders utilize all the various facets of trading expertise in their careers...because you simply cannot stick to one type of strategy, IMO.

All the best....good job with Ford, I hope you continued success.

I have to say, i'm still not totally clear on the LRP thing. If you could give me more info on this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for your help.

Read this: http://www.nyse.com/marketinfo/hybmarket/1156502683011.html. There is also a lot of good information about the coming changes on the NYSE here: www.nyse.com. Just click on the HybridTalk blog and start reading through the posts. There are a lot of good examples in there. Hope that helps.

Am I missing something here? I trade NYSE stocks on ARCA all the time. How is this new? I just checked my net sheets and yes, I get a rebate of .002 and get charged .003 for taking.

According to my people, there has not been the same rebate system for NYSE stocks on any ECN. Please send me a PM with details (copy of confirmations, your broker, clearing firm, etc.)...I am very interested.

Perhaps ETF's only, ??

Thanks,

Don

I sent out the official release to my traders, and I thought I posted it here...I'll post for sure when I get to the office tomorrow.

Let's not forget that the specialists and floor brokers will still be doing their jobs just as they do now under the new hybrid - they just have the tools to do them electronically.
