EarthSat said in a note to clients
Thursday that it has raised revised its prediction for named storms in 2007 from 16 to 18.

Any predictions from you all? none of those 7 year old kid responses please.

I only trust NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmotspheric Administration).

Their last release predicted 7 to 10 hurricanes with the possibility of 3 to 5 becoming major hurricanes.

It's been quiet so far but the season isn't over either

the real test is august. if its gonna get bad, it'll get bad in august..

Its been warmer than usual on the gulf coast so keep that in mind.

The dust that has come over from the West Coast of Africa has kept ocean temperatures cooler than usual.

NOAA's mid-season update comes out on August 9th.

Category 1 right now I think.
Could move to 3 or even 4 over the weekend . . . all depends on whether or not it heads more West into the Yucatan Peninsula, or comes back in a more northeasterly direction towards TEXAS.

Nat-Gas drillers could be a great play tomorrow heading into the Weekend.
