"Then one day my wife comes screaming in my office "BUY VRTX!!!!". I'm saying to myself, wtf is VRTX? I can't question her, there's serious ramifications, if it loses money we all know what that is, if it goes up and didn't buy, I'll never hear the end of it. Then the risk of being cutoff!!! I hate being put in this position and had to buy."
You shouldn't be running any kind of business or trading, if your actions are dependtant on when your wife gets a wild hair up her ass about a stock.
I'm not a successfull trader yet, still studying myself.
But, I do run a very successfull home business. If I had listentend to my wife, "don't start that until you have some more money saved.......................translation work your crappy job until I think you know what you are doing."
Many times I have had to tell my wife, "this is my business, I don't need a boss, or your opinion, when I do I will let you know."
If you wife wants to trade let her do it on her own on her own computer, and put her in her place. sorry, but you need to grow a set and be the man, especially if you are going to start any kind of business or trade.
A wife or relative allowed to second guess and to make comments on your every action, (when they don't know what the hell they are talking about), will only sink your ship. I have told my wife in so many words this is the reason why I don't need her input.
It has been my experiece that partnerships with friends and family, (wether meant or implied,) don't work well in business. Just like an Army there needs to be clear chain of command.
If you were hired as a professional to trade for company, or started your own company and had others under you, your wife woudlnt' have the teremity to barge in and tell you what to do would she?
You need to set boundaries NOW, before it's too late.
Also, my advice. Don't discuss finances with your wife. They don't understand losing money to see a profit in the future. Most wifes will only see the loss of money, and think, you should stop. They will always think your fing up and that since YOU are doing it you are going to fail, since you may have never run a business before.
The money I've spend getting my business successful enough to pay all my bills and save up money, and live a nice lifestyle, would have made my wife cry bloody murder. But, in the world of small business it's probably pretty average.
I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but all the replies I read were too touchy feely thought I'd give you some real adice instead of just complaining about my wife too.
