The people who voted for Trump could reasonably have predicted this, actually most who did not suspected this sort of evil would result. Trump also told the military commanders to not be so careful about drone etc. collateral civilian deaths. These are not unintended consequences, he desires this as it demoralises in his mind.
He clearly said he wants to make the Southern border "more deadly". This is his plan is to increase the death rate as a deterrent.

Aiding and abetting those committing illegal acts is a crime. The feds should also be kicking down the doors of those fucking churches providing cover to illegals, and/or taxing the shit out of them.
