Human-€induced climate change requires urgent action

If it is such simple science, wouldn't it be trivial to explain the observations that are inconsistent with rising CO2 causing the Earth to warm? Yet we don't find any reasonable explanations for these inconsistencies that would leave the original Hansen hypothesis intact.

What we have recently learned is that temperature rise precedes CO2 concentration rise. Apparently, temperature is the independent variable and CO2 the dependent.

Trying to argue the equivalent of 'chickens can't be the cause of eggs because they have been observed to hatch from them' is not particularly compelling or scientific.

Dammit, I wish I had thought of that one. Bam!

I hesitate to throw a wrench into this, but since jem never answered my question -- repeated several times -- about what difference it makes, I'll ask again, hoping for an intelligent answer.

I suspected that all of this would come about back when we punched a hole through the ozone layer, and although we did eventually ban CFCs, that's bupkus compared to banning fossil fuels, pesticides, nuclear waste, and whatever else we've been using to poison the air, water, and land. We've shown zero interest in saving ourselves during all this time, much less "saving the planet". But the fact is that the planet couldn't care less about our efforts to save it. What the planet really wants is to rid itself of the pestilence that is us. Once we're gone, it can then go about the business of healing itself. Till then we'll just choke on our own toxins (Christians will wait for the Rapture).

I'm afraid the time during which "urgent action" might actually yield some result is past, which makes the whole jem thing so ludicrous. Sorry to be such a bummer, but those who never leave the city have no idea what's going on out here.

What legitimate questions did I not answer.
db started with is non sequitor douche comments like "what" so I gave him a "what" back.

1. out of 11000 papers surveyed less than .03% attributed most of the warming to man made co2. We have a larger thread in which I cited that paper as the original post.
Note... I read a few of those papers supporting the idea man made co2 was causing warming... they were using now debunked models.

2. You know that this is true... because none of these agw bitches... and I mean as in female dogs.... ever produce any papers or science showing man made co2 is causing warming.
I don't mean that co2 is increasing or that co2 can warm or cool... I mean man made co2 is causing net warming.

3. You know why these little agw liars don't produce the papers? its because science does not know what the net effect co2 has. the earth is complex... science does not even know whether adding water vapor warms or cool and water vapor is a far larger portion of the environment.

4. Note... I am a conservative. I believe in conserving the environment too. The cost of pollution should be factored in to the cost of the goods sold. That is why Nuclear power is eco terrorism. We are not even storing the waste safely... so the costs are obviously not factored in. I do not believe it is good to destroy the ocean and fisheries. We should cut spending on this agw crap by 90% and spend some of the money on cleaning the oceans and letting fish rebuild.

I asked what difference it made. But you never made any sort of reply, douchey or otherwise. If you want to look it up, just search for "difference". By now, however, I'm really not interested in what you think since you don't much.

I looked for a question addressed to me....
I did reply -
  1. What difference does it make? Are you going to wait until the water reaches your chin before you act?

I act when I sense the odds in my favor.
Right now it looks to me like we could be going into cooling phase.
If we are going to feed 7 billion people... we may need the co2.

I fear we may be going into a cooling phase because of the sun's inactivity and the tides and that co2 will exacerbate it.
If you have some science to tell me better than the dozens of studies I have read recently... link to them... I will read them.

as far as the water level rising... that has happened in cycles and mini cycles since the last ice age. Very little evidence at all that we have anything to do with it.
the earth has been in a cooling phase since 2002. Right now it looks like we have an el nino that could warm us up a little for a few years.

Do you think co2 has an impact on the el nino cycle... what is it, how do you know?
do I think knocking down forests has and impact...yes... what is it ? how much is it? I am not sure science knows.

If we don/t know about forrests and agriculture and cows... why all of sudden can you tell me about man made co2 without any science showing net warming or net cooling since we know it warms and cools?

You answered the second question, not the first.

Not that it matters anymore because you are the sort of geek who calculates the trajectory of the bullet that's headed for his face before he decides whether or not to duck. Therefore, I really don't care what you think.

so post the question... here.
by the way... most of the recent papers show that due to the sun's cycle(s) we are at risk to head into a cooling stage. We might even hope that co2 can warm us. So we really do not know if a bullet is coming at us from co2.

I just saw some other threads.
Many posters are tired of your douchey comments which require no response.
So they stopped responding.

then you act like they are not responding to important questions. In reality it was your doucheyness which got you ignored. your ratio of real question to douche question is far too low... so you get ignored.

if you desire a response.
post a real question right now and stop being a douche.
