I would not expect TWS to be able to handle a 3rd party feed. If latency really matters that much for your trading, then you would want software specialized for that purpose and not something intended to be a general portfolio management tool. I don't think TWS was ever really intended to be the tool used by serious high frequency day traders and scalpers. If you're trying to use some third party software then that's an issue with that software.

You have a valid point on the data integrity issue. Even pulling daily historical data on SPY and other popular instruments, I see some odd bars from several years (decades) ago that should have been corrected. Also, TWS charting could be better. It would not take them much effort to dramatically improve it. But I don't use TWS workstation often. I figured out how to get most of what I need via my own software pulled via the API.

Agree. I don't think there's any other retail broker that comes close to offering an API that basically allows you to do everything you can do with their trading platform. They are head and shoulders above the rest in that regard.
