+100 points in two days is part of the Santa rally. These are real gains. Funds are loading up at the end of day because the dow is down 40% for no compelling reason at all.
Had the volume been higher the markets could have been up 6%.
Keep in mind that the market is immune to all negative news and therefore the only direction is up.
