Why were they not hedged? Even an airline like Southwest is properly hedged, how could an entire nation get it wrong? Did socialism have anything to do with it or was it purely the price of oil? What responsibilities fall on the government of Venezuela to set up contingency plans to avoid situations like this?

Let me understand this correctly, you blame American Republicans and the price of a commodity solely for the troubles in Venezuela without a single word about their choice of government? You futurescurrents are the living embodiment of Social Darwinism as is Venezuela.

Sometimes I sincerely hope that this is one big troll act on his part...Sadly, I believe that he literally is completely delusional...

Let's say that futurescurrents is 100% right. The collapse is because of oil. What responsibilities fall on the government of Venezuela to set up contingency plans to avoid situations like this? How can a small capitalist airline that hedges out smart an entire nation? Why have BP and Exon not filed for bankruptcy...are they hedged? are they diversified? What does this say about socialism? To purely give the government a free pass is idiotic.

How diversified was Venezuela? Apparently not at all.
