Huawei Ban

Huawei Ban

President Trump will reportedly ban U.S. companies from using telecoms equipment from vendors that pose a national security risk this week. The executive order would effectively lead to a ban on the use of Huawei equipment—which would at least mean the U.S. taking the same medicine it has been prescribing to its allies, with mixed success. Where is the source? If this is true then it’s about the 5g turf war. In the bigger backdrop of the trade war. For which the real goal is to prevent China getting the IPs to have foot hold in high tech high value industries.

I don't get it. US has its own 5G network. Why doesn't everybody use that? Why do people still want to use Huawei's?

Huawei would be so comforted hear that it builds billion-dollar mobile network structure that spans across the world and all you love about their products is their smartwatch. LOL

The guy at the front desk asked me if I really ordered a gold watch lol... It was the same price as a phone

China Arrests

China has now formally arrested two Canadians that it detained last year. Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig are apparently suspected of gathering state secrets for foreign forces. Spavor and Kovrig were detained shortly after Canada arrested Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, who faces deportation to the U.S. Spavor is a businessman; Kovrig works for the International Crisis Group conflict-resolution NGO. What I think is hilarious is how chip makers (who happen to have Huawei as a customer) are getting nailed this morning. Down 5%-8%! WTH?!? Do the sellers think that equipment purchases won't get made?? Whether the name is Huawei or Cisco, stuff is needed, stuff will be made/marketed/sold.

This is a FINE day to invest in chip-makers.
