April 27th:
Instead of moving forward with our research, 100% of our time and money is now being spent on fighting a legal battle with the U.S. Government.
Some time ago, the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) recruited the SWAT team and other Government agencies to raid our facility confiscating all papers, plans and computers.
They are attempting to block all sales and use of the chemicals used in our Hydrogen storage system.
The materials in question are common Oxidizers and have never been illegal to own or purchase and are not even classified as hazardous materials.
They are also attempting to block all sales and ownership of oxidizer chemicals, and a wide variety of other substances that will actually make it illegal to own a chemistry set. Our scientific supply page has additional information on how the CPSC actions will relate to home experimenters & science hobbyists.

well its gotta smell better than those nasty biodiesel monstrosities.

I have wondered for at least 15 years if it would be permissible to gene splice algae so that the algae would produce a harmless carbon byproduct that could easily be converted into an energy source like gasoline. The pipe dream would be that the algae would be non- destructive to the environment, easily harvestable and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that its byproduct releases.

cheap gas == crack

This country needs a slap in the face to get off it. Perhaps afterward we can end our fixation with the Middle East.

One thing that doesnt help is the number of crackpots in the field and the perpetual rumors of amazing inventions like a car that runs on water that the oil company's have supressed since it would lead to their demise.

I just spent some time digging around about egaspower to try to find out why the yahoo group was removed (never did) and came across this site: http://www.egaspower.com/ which referenced the fine work done by one Stan Meyer at this link: http://www.waterpoweredcar.com/stanmeyer.html
Stan Meyer's Dune Buggy that ran on water. Hydrogen burning motor. On board electrolysis, no hydrogen tanks, no bombs on-board, just water. (1998) It ran 100 miles per gallon!
....
was a shame to hear that he was poisoned (March 98') and longer with us. The Military was going to use this technology in their tanks, jeeps, etc. He had patents on his invention and was ready for production. Only $1,500 to equip your car!
Classic, not only was his work ignored but he was mysteriously killed - perfect for conspiracy theorists.

Digging further I found this on wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Meyer
The water fuel cell is a perpetual motion device that was supposed to function by breaking water into hydrogen and oxygen gases using less energy than that present in the bond itself. The water fuel cell was claimed to produce several times more energy than it consumed (for instance, by connecting it to an engine that would burn the hydrogen back into water), and a car prototype powered by a water fuel cell was assembled.

Since this concept violates the first law of thermodynamics and this apparatus has never been demonstrated to work or reproduced, it was met with much skepticism and was later found to be a hoax. The purpose of the hoax was likely to attract gullible investors, selling them licensing rights for a "revolutionary" technology. The inventor, Mr. Stanley Meyer (died March 21, 1998), was later successfully sued by some of these disgruntled investors, whom he had sold "dealerships", and convicted for "gross and egregious fraud".
It Runs on Water is a video with Stanley Meyer demonstrating the water fuel cell in a car. Meyer claimed that he could run a 1.6 liter Volkswagen Dune buggy on water instead of gasoline. He replaced the spark plugs with "injectors" to spray a fine mist into the engine cylinders, which he claimed were electrified at a resonant frequency. The fuel cell would split water into hydrogen and oxygen gas, which would combust back into water vapor in a conventional hydrogen engine to produce net energy. Estimates made showed that only 22 US gallons (83 L) of water were required to travel from one US coast to the other. Meyer also demonstrated his vehicle for his city's local news station Action 6 News. A video of the buggie in action can be found here.

The vehicle failed to work during a required demonstration of the water-fueled car in a 1990 court case. An Ohio court found Stanley Meyer guilty of "gross and egregious fraud" in a case brought against him by disgruntled investors. The court decided that the centerpiece of the car, his water fuel cell, was a conventional electrolysis device, and he was ordered to repay the investors $25,000.
So if EgasPower.com references (http://www.egaspower.com/history.html) Stan as one of the great pioneer of the field and it turns out Stan was a fraud does that imply that EgasPower is also a fraud?

the chaps at angel labs (see link above) are saying they can't raise the cash for a running motor. He's also got 100 inventions that he can't afford to patent. There's a forum on the site for discussion.

Just a couple months ago, some investors got ripped off buying one of those <A href="http://www.infozine.com/news/stories/op/storiesView/sid/13406/">water powered cars</a>.

The reality is that the energy industry is a closed shop. A racket if you like.

When new technologies emerge, the oil companies buy up the patents and get the developers to sign confidentiality agreements.

They give the inventor a few million and promise him a licencing fee of 5% of all profits. The inventor signs away. The invention never gets licenced or further developed or marketed and they can't say anything otherwise they will be sued and have to pay back the few million they made.

The energy companies just sit on them, and some even use them as PR tools. Saying things like "Last year we invested 20 million in renewable energy reseach."

You can guarentee that when everyone finally realises there are alternatives to gasoline, we will be paying Big Oil for the previlage to use them.

Breakthrough Hydrogen Technology

Sounds similar to Brown's Gas posted earlier.
According to the news release after he got invited by congress to demonstrate the technology, he got government contracts to develop water fueled Hummer for the military.

Stanley Mayer has another breakthrough hydrogen Generation Technology. Using high freq, high voltage, devise achieves a very high efficiency for hydrogen generation out of tap water with low power consumption. It's about 20 mins into the video.

A step in the right direction?
BMW’s Liquid Hydrogen Fueled V12

I wonder whatever happened to this technology?. Running on water only, less than 25 gallons to drive from west to east coast, as shown on Channel 6 Action News.
Water Powered Car

This next is far out there. Free energy from water hydrogen, they are literally pouring water into the carburetor while the car is running!
You can skip the very beginning, the water pouring is towards the end.
