HSI gap up nearly 700 points this morning

Days with a big gap sometimes drop back and settle into a trend. Todays gap was huge and the resulting "ringing" in the market left little opportunity to profit from anything other than scalps.

I don't think we'll see too many 680 point gaps (thank heavens) so I wouldn't adjust your systems :)
 
I consider this applies to my system as well.

P. S. Though it was a hard day indeed. One of trades exceeded my stop by 1 point and continued well in desired direction... Sh*t happens. :)
