HP to buy PALM

Wow! I had a feeling someone would. Imo Dell has his head up his a**. He had 10 billion in cash and buys Perot instead of Palm

as I've toted in the previous PALM thread, WebOS is awesome. HP is getting a bargain. I'd buy HP now- but I doubt that tablets will take off like other people think they will. IMO, simply put, the tablet is just not as good as a laptop.

The laptop screen stays up in a natural viewing position, and has a full keyboard. College students can't take notes on tablets effectively, and I don't see them, or other consumer groups, traashing their faster laptops for fancy touch-screen tablets.

Go PALM! I hope HP lets the brand stay alive.

More goodwill on the balance sheet that will require impairments over the next few years, a little here a little there, bleeding shareholder equity over time.

HP should have paid shareholders 1.2billion in dividends instead.
