I was going to say I think Trump is owned by the MIC, too, but then it occurred to me that he wants to replace a lot of the government with his lackeys, and that might make government too hard for the MIC to control. Not to mention exacerbate the culture war and push us closer to civil war, which is bad for business.

I think you're entirely correct. The reason there's so much resistance to Trump is three-fold. First and foremost, he's not backed by the MIC, and they simply won't have him. Second, he's declared the media to be the enemy and they also won't have it. Third, he's an immature megalomaniac that's easy to go after.
