How would you lose on purpose ?

Why do you feel that's the greater fool theory??

Tale a trial of Portfolio123 and backtest it vs classic value,or add a momentum filter to classic value..

You forgot buy high and sell higher, i.e., the greater fool theory.

Well...that's just an extension of buy low and sell high. We don't need to indulge ourselves in meaningless semantics.

Yes it’s an extension but Keep it simple.
“Buy Low, Sell high” has portability.
Works in bear and bull markets.

Whereas “Buy High, Sell Higher”
Is less robust, reliable than “Buy low, Sell high”
As it implies a bullish environment with little correction.

Even more simple than “Buy low, Sell high”
Is “Min(Risk), Max(Reward)”. It’s all about this.

Buy ETFs and get some OTM put options.
Rebalance years in, years out.

I agree.

But there is a slightly difference strategy in play when you buy at 52 week low vs buying at 52 week high.

In the series DO NOT
I am trying to collect some items.

Thought about ...
- Buying tops and Selling Bottoms
- Trading what’s not understood
- Not following one’s plan
- Use invalid information
- Use unreliable system
- Trading sick, drunk
- Over-betting
...

What are some other Vulnerabilities, Threats and Weaknesses ?

To blow up my account I’d
- Buy all the contracts I can
- Right before the open
- Take a 10Pts loss
- Repeat ...

But the 10Pts loss isn’t a sure thing.
Even someone skilled would be unlucky enough.
%%
