How would the Markets react to an Israeli strike on Iran?

Neither did I Nana...please explain

Quote from Nana Trader:

What makes you say that? I didn't say anything bad except revealing some fact about today's Iraq (not past Iraq)

my question does it matter. If the give it to the chinese, then the chinese will relieave pressure on sources of oil.
Quote from Nana Trader:

:D :D :D Hahaaaaa, wait that's hhhhaaaa Times * 10

What makes you think Iraqis will give out their oils to west?
They have 10 times more hate toward US than anything comes from Iran

drsteph do you think it would be something like what happened with hurricane katrina and oil. It went up after the storm hit, then it went down as people were relieaved that it didnt destroy as much, b/c reporting and the analysis was spotty at the beginning. But then it rose sharply days later as people fully realize the grasp of the situation. Thats what I think is the most likely scenerio. As people buyin in fear, then they cool down, but then as they realize what has happened and its impact it will rise sharply.

Quote from drsteph:

Sell the rumor, buy the fact.

Short S&P & buy bonds, then rotate into oil/energy & commodity producers, short transports, consumer discretionaries. As oil price rises, mideast wealth likely to buy more XAU, so bullish for metals.

Here's an article i just read. Let's feed this fire a bit.

Tehran plans a nuclear weapons test before March 20, 2006 – the Iranian New Year, moves Shahab-3 missiles within striking range of Israel

January 22, 2006, 9:30 AM (GMT+02:00)

Reporting this, the dissident Foundation for Democracy in Iran, a a small rally.

Wouldn't that assure no more wars down there??? Saddam was defenseless and look what happened to him.

I dont know. If iran was planning some kind of test in 3 months. Isreal would strike at any minute. They could strike today. But intelligence is so shakey. You have bush saying they are 3 years away. But who knows. Intelligence these days coming from allies and the cia as we all know is a bunch of bulk. Its not reliable. As far as we know, they could have one right now.
I dont think the us economy can handle another war.

Quote from dgabriel:

No, you didn't misunderstand me at all. Bush has made it clear that he is driven by religious convictions and he has made statements to the effect, that his actions are sanctioned by God. And it is by design he has spoken this way, to signal to the Islamic fascists that he is an implacable foe.

And no, I have neither the time nor the inclination to dig up such statments and provide them for your pleasure.

You could spend the rest of your life looking for facts to support your statement and would never find them because they are none.

You Bush haters are fun to screw with because you have no facts to back up anything you say.

When people can't respond intelligently, they make attacks. My guess is I used words that you don't understand. I won't dumb things down for you.

Sayonara, little boy.

lets keep this to pure market reactions, and the political reactions. There was a report on yahoo saying sanctions in themselves could raise oil to 100. And thats not even an attack by isreal. Imagine what an attack could raise it too.
