how traders maintain edge?

Try this:

Lets say a person is truly ignorant. This just means he is new to a subject.

Let him trade in the direction of an RTL (two bars determine an observable RTL) and reverse on each FTT. An FTT is a Failure To Traverse.

He bookmarks the FTT's.

If price crosses the bookmark, he reverses sides of the market.

On every day he adds capital from profits and begins with only one contract.

This person never does anything after this to change from this mechanical trading. However, he does limit his position to 50 contracts and always sweeps all the surplus profits after that.

In 6 days he is making 100K a day.

He is a beginner trader all his life.

Last Friday he began short on the open by using bar 81 (degapped) and bar 1 on the open to draw the RTL. This would be a 5 min chart, for example.

Bookmarking is a green line extending to the right from the FTT of the two bar container having the RTL and its corresponding LTL.

Imagine Mysteron making 100K every day in seven days.
 
Ok here is my take on having an edge and the "experts"... a) those who have a REAL edge keep it to themselves or share it with a few who they respect, b) those who don't will sell you their book or you can pay them for a seminar to learn it.

FOLKS I think I know what the problem is here-- I like to explain what it is I do even if it is somewhat unexplainable; Jack likes to confuse with zillions of scattered frequencies shot out over the Internet's bow.

How to maintain an edge.

STEP 1- CREATE A WATCH LIST OF TA ATTRACTIVE STOCKS.

STEP 2- WATCH SAID LIST- THUS THE TERM ' WATCH LIST '

STEP 3- LOOK FOR LARGEST VOLUME IN 7 WEEKS TO TELL YOU WHEN A STOCK IS READY TO MAKE A REAL MOVE.

STEP 4- BUY PPO.

I am doing THAT today AND ALSO BUYING A 2ND NAME FROM OUR WATCH LIST THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW I LIKE- SPRD. Reason-- orderly pull in.

Separate interesting ideas FROM LIST-, REFR, NLST, IOC, CLF, PANL RNN, NTDOY, LF, SNMX-- FROM THOSE THAT ACTUALLY LOOK READY TO MOVE--

Ultra watch for today then would be.... SNMX.... because it was so strong last week. What do they do? Well glad you asked-- this is a SI stock from YEARS ago that i forced my mother to buy and she lost on it pretty big! They are a babyish bio who specialize in the decidedly un sexy flavor market.. they makes sure foods taste salty & sweet etc and have contracts with food co's. What's the new driver? I don't know (yet) This is but another interesting name culled from my databank (head) Was I merely ten years too early?... Time will tell as they say.

EDge- BUY PPO & SPRD.... hyper watch SNMX and if it continues up buy as well....

There we have it from 2000 to 3000 stocks we have two actionable ideas and a watch, it's 8:22 and I'm heading to Fire Island at 11:30. This will give me two hours to invest, buy dog food and pack up my crate.
