Covel's an author. Not a trader.
If you have a good tend following system you probably shouldn't lose money. I suppose you could call my methodology trend following (I call it momentum) as it follows trends and exits on trend breaks. Throw in a little risk control and money management and I haven't had a losing year in the last 20.
Possibly the top 5% of the hedge fund industry does well but that 5% changes from year to year.
ALL Hedge funds are green-eyed p****ycats. The Commercial Hedgers is where its at.
Some Hedge funds might have a period success, then the losses pile up, you won't know when to ride with 'em
But Commercial Hedgers are consistent winners and stood the test of TIME
Do not know what a Commercial Hedger is. Is that the same as banks, brokers, hedge funds, mutual funds) that hedge their positions? Hedge funds by their name itself implies they employ some hedging strategies. Maybe, not all the time, but, depending on the market conditions.
