I wonder why the states that got hit early on didn't experience the second wave that happened in the red states like TX, FL and the Dakota's.
If you're referring to the states that thought it was a good idea to put the sick in with the elderly (brilliant, that) then I think the reason is that they figured out what a stupid decision that was. They locked down everything (some are still locked down a year later).
They open up and guess what is going to happen?
Of course, you remove the economic impact of locking down from the equation. Conveniently, of course.
