How to short the S&P using options? Day & swing puts

Nope, no Greeks allowed. SPX does not go that complicated. I want a simple solution to a simple problem, because that is what SPX says he does.

All he does is simply buy/sell calls and puts. So with just ONE LITTLE position like an MES long trade, can he come up with a sort of hedge?

I know @destriero already has an answer in his head, But this is not about him. This is about SPX who is claiming that simple buys/calls are a superior method of trading options.

That's because he is a "day trader." You are not a "day trader." SPX does not have to have sex with Greeks. You will have to have group sex with a lot of Greeks. SPX does not have your answer. Dest has your answer.

Why are you talking about the SPX? That has NOTHING to do with the NQ. Hello?

Lol, it is because you options folks are all totally insane! Nuts! I have no idea what is going on now, haha.

At least your nick, onda, is about where I sit in the sanity department.

I'm not an options person, either. I'm almost as confused as you are. And no one answered my question on Page 8, which would have helped un-confuse me, at least a little.

It was shorthand for @SPX Options Trader. Settle down, you're getting overheated.

That brings up another question...

The SPX and SPY are the things going away, yes? The SPX are options on the SPY? So that would seem to me that SPXOptiontrader's name is going to become pointless, since they will go away.

So will his only choice for trading SPX-style options left be FOPs on the ES? OMG, is he coming over to the futures space?

SPX and SPY each have their own options. I believe SPX options are American and settle to cash, and SPY options are European and settle to shares (or something like that).
