How to short bitcoin ?

ICBIT.SE... never used it but looking into it. There is another site, Bitfiniacs (?), where the spreads are too high/ not enough volume to make it work. Derivatives will come, though. Avoid Campbx. ripoff.
I hope you did your fundamental research very well, before shorting something that resilient. After shitloads of bad media for 3 months, Bitcoin's economy keeps growing (13% last 30 days):

Further: In about 6 months new, better, safer Exchanges and Wallets will be released. And Media will become more educated and write more balanced reviews.
www.kraken.com has lots of trading possibilities (like forex using pairs), but their fees are kind of steep and the volume is low.
1. Nothing goes up in a straight line, run ups can be easily shorted. I am talking about 50-80 bucks rallies...
2. Now that volatility is a bit down and the price is range bound, the top of the range also can be shorted.
There is really no reason to play this as a one way street. Last year when it was super hot yes, it was very dangerous to stand in front of the steamroller, but now, not so much...
Are any of these places trustworthy?
