How to see total short positions for a stock? Specially GME today :)

How to see short total and it's history for a security on TWS or from another source? something that show real-time the amount of short over few weeks.

Also, where to get the data to know WHO has the short positions?

Thanks

Typically, the exchanges issue general reports at the end of each month, giving investors a tool to use as a short-selling benchmark. The Nasdaq exchange publishes a short interest report in the middle and at the end of the month. Therefore, the information traders are using is always slightly outdated and the actual short interest may already be significantly different than what the report says.

Short Interest (number of total shares short) is updated twice a month, there is no real-time data.

Why is it that it's only published every two months and not real time? I mean it's not like they are call or out with dates.

That's what the government/Finra requires. No one is going to file reports if they don't have to, especially as they don't want you to know what they're doing/trading. I also don't want someone else to know what I'm trading, it's not their business. Everyone is also protecting their trading strategies, so it is private info.

Yeah, sure the source doesn't need to be known like that.

But from available source as part of ETFs etc...

Also, my main question was why there is no real-time short positions graph.B Butf that's also a FINRA thing then I wonder why they want real-time buy and sell data shown but not shorts.
