How to reverse-engineer William O'Neill?

It has been about 10 years since i have purchased any IBD online products.
They can help you see what doing well in the stock market if that is your issue.
They organize and sell volumes of research and data in a peicemeal fashion.
You can bet when you buy a couple of nice features you will see a glaring blind spot that
will be sold seperately.
Last i checked they were still a breakout strategy focusing on the Stuart Walton type market darlings and hefty mix of small float momentum stocks with catalyst and earnings
(Maybe steady but probably not). BIDZ, years ago was IBD #1 in the IBD100 and was a scam so beware.
Like the pros here i think it is better to figure out what precisely you need, get it free, research and organize it yourself. That is the long work.

Could you please repeat the question or knowledge you hoped to gain from this topic? I do not understand on many levels: poorly written, odd characters showing up, asking questions incongruent with discussion, dissing expensive things when not reading cheap things, etc...

For you or anyone to participate in trading markets, you will have to grow into being very adult as far as making money in markets.

It is easy to make money once you are an adult.

For many years I worked as parrt of the IBD local MeetUp system. We had about 70 attendees every two weeks.

College kids attended and some people flew in from east and west coast

WJO'N was a great creator of foundational information.

As you learn about learning and especially how the mind works, you will be able to begin to understand how to correct the many mistakes you are currently making. Good luck to you.

I think you're being a bit unfair here. IBD is not some guru scam site. A lot of work goes into generating the information, so it is unrealistic to think they are going to give it away. Most if not all of the items you list are available with the basic IBD subscription, as I recall. I don't know what it costs now, but it isn't a lot.

You are right to be sceptical of trading vendors, as most are scams. I certainly wouldn't put Bill O'Neil in that category. His approach is not for everyone, but it is a proven concept. It takes a great deal of discipline and some work, so most will not stick with it, but it is the best overall approach I have seen to investing in the stock market.
 
Like Maverick, AAA, Phoenix etc have said, CANSLIM is a great method to pick stocks.

It will keep you out when the markets are not favorable to long investments, it will keep you in, and in the best names, when it is.

It's a lot of work. It's worth doing it.

Read Bill Oneil's books. Gil Morales and Katcher's books are also good. So is Boucher. Those are really all you need if you're willing to do the work.

I think markets have changed a lot. After 2000 there were wild swings and many were ruined out. No simple recipes work. If you are stricken with a 55% draw-down like in 2008 if you do not average down you never recover.

The whole point of O'Neil's approach is that you get out of stocks when the market heads down. That is the M in CANSLIM.

Even a helpful book like his short selling book is not worth much, in a bull marke//uptrending market,,especially since 2014 is about 50% gone.Sell in may + go away is not a prediction, nor is a 200 dma or 50 dma.The latter moving avereages were explained/pictured/charted in Williqm O Nelll's books, maybe not helpful @ all to some seminar.
